Bluerock Transformation Centre offers a unique facility for hosting Conferences, Training Session , Retreats, Workshop or Seminar and for learning out of classroom activities (LOC). 'Bluerock' is an income generation and sustainability initiative of Coimbatore Spastic Trust. Bluerock will create employment opportunities for people with disability and a safe place to have gainful and meaningful employment.
We intend to impact and transform lives through an array of programs, activities and experiences in a safe, positive and an exciting environment. Experiential learning, with a combination of outdoor activities and indoor session will be the mode of implementation to create an intentional transformation in the participant's life. Our goal is the pursuit of excellence and we are dedicated to creating unique camp opportunities and promoting intentional, recreation - based learning and personal growth, be it intellectual, social or spiritual transformation.
To impart the programs we are partnering with various organizations. They have well trained expertise that has been into experiential learning and outdoor adventure camps for children, young adults, companies and families.
Bluerock has a beautiful conference hall 'Arputha' with a seating capacity of 150. We have two dorms and some tents for a stay over camp. Bluerock also develops need based training programs and curriculum based training programs
Although the Trust primarily started out to work with children and people with special needs, it has prepared to respond to the felt need of a campsite that caters to the camping and experiential learning needs of this part of Tamilnadu. We believe that this will create a platform for an inclusive environment, which is intentional in the infrastructure and the programs. Our desire is to have programs which are inclusive and exclusive to people with disability and people from mainstream respectively. Our desire is to reach out to the local rural children in the villages around, urban school children, college students and corporate employee’s.
Blue rock is in its formative years however the current infrastructure we have are two dorms which could take 40 people, with a kitchen and other amenities. We are also constructing a reflection center which is expected to be ready for use in July 2014 with a seating capacity of 125. We have tents and lot of open space for activities, a low ropes course and other simple activity structures are also in the pipeline.
Blue rock opened its services on the 21st of February 2014 with a 7 days NSS camp for 65 young women from Avinashilingam University, Coimbatore. The students worked in the local community creating awareness for women empowerment, cleaning living skills, dental camp, education; financial inclusion surveyed the area for disable children and many other activities through street play, skits, songs and training sessions.
Blue rock is 23kms from Coimbatore city junction off the Mettupalayam road, in Veerapandi village. The backdrop of Blue rock is scenic and it’s a wild rocky terrain making it not the normal village layout.
The trust is legally registered as a non religious charitable trust. The school is registered and recognized by the government of Tamilnadu. We are also registered with National trust - a governing body in this segment.
